Hemant Soren to be present in the floor test of Jharkhand Assembly, Court gives permission, Champai Soren has to prove majority on 5th February

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren will be present during the trust vote in the assembly. The special court of Ranchi gave permission to Hemant on Saturday. Jharkhand’s new CM Champai Soren will face the trust vote in the Assembly on February 5.

A special session has been called for this. Hemant was arrested by ED on January 31 in the land scam, the court gave his 5-day remand to ED on February 2. The case was heard in the court of special judge Dinesh Rai. In the petition filed by Hemant Soren, it was said that the Governor has fixed the time for floor test on 5th February. 

Hemant is currently in ED remand. Therefore, permission should be given to be present in the special session of the Assembly. There was debate from both sides on the petition filed in the court.

Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan presented the case on behalf of Hemant Soren. After the hearing, the court ordered Hemant Soren to be present during the trust vote. ED arrested Hemant Soren on Wednesday, January 31, after seven and a half hours of interrogation.

The investigating agency took him into custody and reached Raj Bhavan from CM House at 8.15 pm, where Hemant Soren submitted his resignation. It was here that his close aide Champai Soren staked claim to form a new government. On February 2, Champai Soren was sworn in as the new Chief Minister. After the resignation of Hemant Soren, the Grand Alliance had sent its MLAs to Hyderabad to avoid divisions.

The MLA had boarded a chartered flight from Ranchi Airport on February 1, but the flight could not take off due to dense fog. After this, on 2 February he left for Hyderabad. Champai Soren’s floor test will be held on 5th February.

In such a situation, it is believed that the MLA will return to Ranchi from Hyderabad on the same day morning. 37 MLAs of the ruling party and nominated MLA Joseph Glenn Golstin are in the resort of Hyderabad. JMM leaders Vinod Pandey and Pranab Jha have also gone to Hyderabad.

CM Champai Soren, Minister Alamgir Alam, Satyanand Bhokta, MLA Pradeep Yadav, Vinod Singh, Basant Soren, Chamra Linda, Sita Soren, Lobin Hembram and Ramdas Soren have not gone to Hyderabad.
