New Delhi: Jharkhand took another step towards positioning itself as a major investment destination as Chief Minister Hemant Soren met leading industrial groups, global investors and business delegations during the Business-to-Government (B2G) session on the second day of the National Stakeholders’ Consultation 2026.
The high-level interactions focused on expanding cooperation across key sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, renewable energy, healthcare, skill development and industrial infrastructure, with the aim of attracting long-term investments and creating new employment opportunities in the state.
A delegation led by Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong Wie Kuen, expressed keen interest in forging a long-term partnership with Jharkhand. Discussions centred on investment promotion, setting up world-class skill development centres and Centres of Excellence, adopting Singapore’s vocational training model and strengthening collaboration in healthcare, medical education and research. The delegation also proposed conducting a detailed mapping of Jharkhand’s industrial landscape and workforce to identify priority sectors and prepare a focused roadmap for investment and capacity building. Welcoming the proposals, Chief Minister Soren assured that the state government would work on a structured action plan to translate the ideas into concrete projects.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) presented proposals for investments in clean energy, including solar and wind power projects, smart metering, transmission infrastructure, grid modernisation, solar cell and module manufacturing, and digital energy management. The Chief Minister said Jharkhand is committed to promoting sustainable industrial development and welcomed continued engagement with industry stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) outlined a roadmap to transform Jharkhand into a prominent destination for eco-tourism, destination weddings, sports tourism and MICE tourism. The industry body recommended strengthening tourism infrastructure, destination management, hospitality services, local guide training and transport connectivity. Soren said tourism has immense potential to generate employment and contribute significantly to the state’s economy.
Travel technology company EaseMyTrip announced its plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jharkhand government to jointly promote tourism in the state. The company also proposed bringing leading travel influencers and digital content creators to showcase Jharkhand’s scenic landscapes, rich cultural heritage and tourism destinations to audiences across India and abroad. The Chief Minister welcomed the initiative and assured complete support from the state government.
Representatives from MakeMyTrip also conveyed their willingness to collaborate with the government by promoting Jharkhand’s tourist destinations through the company’s digital platforms and nationwide marketing network, helping the state attract more domestic and international travellers.
The Chief Minister also met representatives of Hero Cycles and Avon Cycles to discuss the establishment of bicycle and electric bicycle manufacturing facilities in Jharkhand. Highlighting the state’s investor-friendly policies, availability of industrial land, robust steel-based industrial ecosystem, improving logistics network and skilled workforce, Soren said Jharkhand offers an ideal environment for manufacturing investments. Discussions explored potential investments of ₹500 crore to ₹1,000 crore, which could pave the way for an integrated manufacturing ecosystem and create substantial employment opportunities.
In another notable proposal, the FICCI Tourism Federation recommended developing an international-standard golf course and golf tourism destination in Ranchi. The Chief Minister assured that the government would facilitate suitable land for the project, stating that it would strengthen sports tourism, boost the hospitality and real estate sectors, generate jobs and enhance Jharkhand’s visibility on the national and international tourism map. The delegation expressed its willingness to partner with the state government in taking the project forward.
Concluding the series of meetings, Hemant Soren reaffirmed that the Jharkhand government remains committed to creating a business-friendly investment climate through progressive policies, transparent governance and continuous dialogue with industry. He said the partnerships and proposals discussed during the consultation would play a key role in accelerating industrial growth, boosting tourism, expanding green energy initiatives and driving the state’s long-term economic development.
