Helen Flanagan Opens Up About an ‘Emotional’ Christmas Spent Apart From Her Children

Los Angeles — Reality television personality and former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has spoken candidly about experiencing an emotionally challenging Christmas, describing the festive period as “up and down” as she spends it without her children amid ongoing tensions with her former partner, Scott Sinclair.

The 35-year-old actress took to Instagram to share her state of mind following recent public remarks criticising Sinclair’s parenting choices. According to Mirror.co.uk, Flanagan expressed her feelings after voicing disappointment over her ex-partner’s decision to travel to Abu Dhabi instead of attending their son’s nativity play.

Setting aside the controversy, Flanagan posted a photo of herself wearing a pink halterneck top, reclining on a chair and looking upward, accompanied by an honest caption about her emotional wellbeing. She wrote that she had been experiencing fluctuating moods over the past few days and had stepped back from social media, suggesting it was time to reconnect with her followers.

Currently appearing as the Wicked Queen in Liverpool’s Snow White pantomime during the holiday season, Flanagan also shared a throwback image from last Christmas with her three children—Matilda, 10, Delilah, 7, and Charlie, 4.

Reflecting on the separation, she said she found it difficult when her children left to spend Christmas with their father a few days early. While acknowledging that Christmas is “just a day,” she explained that the children left on December 22 and she would not see them again until her pantomime commitments conclude.

The actress also referenced the nostalgic photo, taken at her mother’s home last year, reiterating that her emotions had been unsettled in recent days.

Flanagan and Sinclair, who share three children, ended their 13-year relationship and engagement in 2022. Their co-parenting relationship has since faced public scrutiny, with Flanagan recently making strong remarks about Sinclair during an emotional outburst on social media.
