Ranchi: The hearing on the bail plea of former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, accused of land scam, has been completed in the Special Court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act). During his arguments, advocates Abhishek Chowdhary and Abhishek Singh, the suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan, told the court that he has been made an accused only on the basis of oral statement. Chhavi Ranjan should be given bail.
On the other hand, Special Public Prosecutor Shiv Kumar alias Kaka appearing on behalf of ED, said in his argument that Chhavi Ranjan is the main accused in the land scam, so he should not be given bail. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court has reserved its decision.
In this case related to the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army at Bariatu in Badgai zone of Ranchi, former Deputy Commissioner of ED Ranchi IAS Chhavi Ranjan, Revenue sub-inspector of Badgai zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake raiyat of army-occupied land Pradeep Bagchi, The charge sheet has been filed against real estate barons Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan, Fayaz Khan and Mohammad Saddam, Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh.
