Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has upheld the relief granted to former Chief Minister and state BJP president Babulal Marandi, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, Union Minister of State Sanjay Seth, and Dhanbad MP Dhullu Mahto, among over two dozen BJP leaders.
During the hearing on Thursday, the state government requested additional time to file a response. The court granted a final opportunity to file a reply and scheduled the next hearing for August 12.
The case stems from the BJP’s Secretariat gherao programme last year, which led to disturbances. Following the incident, a case was registered at Dhurwa Police Station against 41 individuals, including three former Chief Ministers and half a dozen MPs.
