HC executes BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s petition, gives instructions to government

Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court has given its verdict on the petition filed regarding starting night flight service at Deoghar Airport.

The court had reserved its decision on September 19 after hearing all the parties.

On Wednesday (20 December) the court directed the state government to pay compensation to all the building owners within a month. Also the compensation amount was increased by 25 percent.

After this the High Court executed the petition of Nishikant Dubey.

In this case, advocate Diwakar Upadhyay presented the side of Nishikant Dubey.

After the petition is executed, it is expected that night flight service will start in Deoghar in the next one month.

Godda MP Nishikant Dubey had filed a contempt case in the High Court, in which he had demanded to start night flight service at Deoghar Airport soon.

In the petition, he had said that the Jharkhand High Court had executed the petition in view of the affidavit given by the then officials during the hearing of a PIL in the year 2013.

But the order of the High Court was not followed.

Even after many years, flights have not started smoothly at Deoghar Airport.

It was also said in the petition that some flight companies are showing interest in starting their services from there, but since the airport is not fully functional, night flight services are not being started from here.

Due to which Santhal people are facing difficulty in taking advantage of air services.
