Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has directed the state government to make arrangements for virtual ‘Darshan’ of Baba Baidyanath during the auspicious month of Shravan.
The bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad after listening to the arguments of all the parties directed the state government to make arrangements for Virtual Puja, live broadcast, online Darshan and arrangements to provide Prasad to the devotees.
Secretary of the disaster management department Amitabh Kaushal said that in the manner in which the cases of Coronavirus were increasing in the state therefore it was not possible to organise the Shravani Mela on a grand level.
He said that as far as ‘Jala-arpan’ was concerned every day the priests of the temple perform the rituals which would also continue during the Shravan Month however during this period it would not be appropriate to allow devotees inside the temple.
Satisfied with the arguments of the Jharkhand and Bihar Government the court later disposed off the case. Earlier a PIL in this regard was filed by Godda MP Nishikant Dubey in which he had demanded that devotees should be allowed to make obeisance at the temple during the month of Shravan.
