Govt forms 8-member committee to implement Triple Test Survey in urban bodies

Ranchi: The state government has constituted an eight-member committee under the chairmanship of the SUDA director to translate the findings of the Triple Test Survey into action. Based on this committee’s report, urban local bodies across the state will determine ward-wise reservation for Extremely Backward Class–1 (EBC-1) and Backward Class–2 (BC-2) categories by assessing their population share.

The committee will identify and verify population data of EBC-1 and BC-2 communities, analyse demographic trends from 2011 to 2025, and incorporate geographical information to ensure accurate estimates. It will also prepare a ward-level population assessment to help decide the extent of reservation for both categories.

Members of the committee include the SUDA director as chairperson, representatives from the Urban Development Department, a special invitee from the State Commission for Backward Classes, the assistant director of Urban Administration, and departmental section officers. The panel is expected to provide a data-backed framework for implementing equitable urban reservations based on verified population figures.
