Governor urges stakeholders to prepare skilled manpower

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan has urged people to extend their role in creating a skilled and entrepreneurial workforce and work together towards making Jharkhand a prosperous state with ample employment opportunities for all.

While addressing a conclave in an apprenticeship at the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi he also talked about Indian skill development service (ISDS) launched in 2018 to work towards making India a skill hub of the world through demand-based skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling of youth and expressed his belief in the service in creating convergence and synergy between different organisations and helping immensely in reaping the potential of India’s demographic dividend.

He said that Jharkhand is a state with immense potential, rich in natural resources and a young and dynamic workforce but to realize its full potential focus on capturing opportunities and working towards the idea of ‘Atmanirbhar’ was required. 

Talking about the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship programme, he said it was playing a very significant role in enhancing the skill ecosystem at the district level. He said it provides an opportunity for young, dynamic individuals to contribute to enhancing skill development and promoting economic development. 

On skill development and the role of the Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (MSDE) the Governor said that In today’s highly competitive world, it is imperative that we equip our youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen careers.

MSDE is committed to providing world-class training and education to our youth which will enable them to compete globally, he said.
