Government will bring 27 percent reservation for backward and caste census bill – Alamgir

Ranchi:  In the Jharkhand Assembly, the government has said that it is serious about giving 27 percent reservation to the backward and conducting caste census.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam said in the House that the government will remove the errors by returning the Jharkhand Reservation (Amendment) Bill in the vacancies of posts and services from the Raj Bhavan.

Then it will be passed in the assembly and sent to the governor.

At the same time, the government wants that caste census should be done in Jharkhand.

It will be passed in the House and sent to the Centre. Even if the Centre does not approve it, it will be considered to implement it in the state on the lines of Bihar.

MLA Pradeep Yadav had asked the government through a calling attention notice that the backward population in the state is 50 to 60 percent, while they have got only 14 percent reservation in jobs.

Reservation of backward should be made 27 percent and caste census should also be conducted in the state.

On this, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that the government had passed the bill to give 77 percent reservation to ST, SC and OBC and sent it to the Raj Bhavan.

It is still under process.

On this, the MLA wanted to know what is under process.

Then the minister said that the bill has not yet been returned from the Raj Bhavan.

The government will ask for the bill from the Raj Bhavan and get it passed again.
