Government to provide relief to 30 lakh drought-hit farmer families: Hemant Soren

Ramgarh: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said his government will provide relief to 30 lakh farmer families battling drought in the state as part of which they will be provided Rs 3500 per family to battle the drought.

Addressing a function organised at Lukaiyatand on the 65th martyrdom day of late martyr Sobran Soren he said that Jharkhand has been the land of heroes for centuries. Amar Shaheed Sobran Soren fought for the rights and dignity of tribal natives, exploited, poor, and deprived. He fought a long struggle to save these classes from the wrath of the Mahajani system.

People of Jharkhand are remembering the sacrifice of Martyr Sobran Soren today. He said that the government is moving ahead by working on the thoughts and ideals of Martyr Sobran Soren with the commitment to the all-round development of Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister said that respected Dishom Guru Shri Shibu Soren, the son of immortal martyr Sobran Soren, also followed the path of his father and raised the voice of the state against moneylender exploitation and atrocities against all sections of the tribal, dalit, exploited, deprived and poor. He struggled to preserve these classes by going from village to village, forest to forest and a time also came when a large number of people of the state-supported the respected Guruji’s struggle he said.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister and Guruji formally unveiled the newly installed statue of Veer Shaheed Sobran Soren at the memorial site at Lukaiyatand in Ramgarh district on the occasion of his martyrdom day and paid tributes to him by garlanding the statue He said that Martyr Sobran Soren was his grandfather but he had not seen him.

He said Martyr Sobran Soren was a teacher and used to light up education in society. His work was not liked by moneylenders and feudalists but the sacrifice of Martyr Sobran Soren can never be forgotten. 

Hemant Soren said that soon after getting relief from the global pandemic Corona a drought-like calamity resurfaced in the state. Taking this as a challenge his government worked for the benefit of the farmers of the state. He said that the government has done the work of declaring 226 blocks of Jharkhand as drought-affected. 

The Chief Minister said that his government will work to pay Rs 3500 per farmer family as drought relief amounting to about 30 lakh farmer families of the state. He said that by setting up camps in panchayats, the benefit of drought relief amount would be made available by taking applications from farmer families.

The Chief Minister said that in the coming times the state government would request the central government for the purpose of providing further relief to 30 lakh drought-affected farmer families of the state.

The Chief Minister said that his government is working with the commitment by making a better action plan to strengthen the rural economy as when the village is strong then only the state will be prosperous.

The Chief Minister said that an action plan has been prepared by the state government for children, youth and all sections of the elderly. Our government has implemented Sarvajan Pension Yojana in the state and now all eligible people are getting pensions he said. 

Hemant Soren said that the Aapki Yojana-Aapki Sarkar- Aapki Dwar program has been launched by the state government in every village, and panchayat of Jharkhand. In the last 20 years, the people here used to get tired of going round the block offices but the government has now done the task of sending the officers posted in the block offices to your villages and door-to-door. The Chief Minister said that it is his priority to solve the problems in the camps organized in the villages and homes itself. 

The Chief Minister said that the government is constantly trying to improve the level of education and now his government is also working to upgrade government schools on the lines of private schools. All the preparations have been completed, for this teachers are also being given quality training. It has been our endeavor since the formation of the government to speed up the works of roads, schools, colleges etc in the state.

The Chief Minister said that Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana has been started in the state. Through this scheme, financial assistance is being provided to all poor class girls from class 8th to class 12th. Along with this, after completing 18 years, a lump sum amount of 40 thousand will also be provided in the bank account of the concerned teenager.

The Chief Minister said that his government is giving wings to the dreams of girls of the state who want to become engineers, doctors, BDOs, COs after pursuing higher education. We have done the work of preparing an action plan so that poverty does not become an obstacle in getting an education.

The Chief Minister said that a fair is being organized on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Martyr Sobran Soren at Lukaiyatand near Barlanga village in Ramgarh district.
