Government not disturbed over ED raids, agency should tell what recovered so far: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has hit back over the ongoing raids being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate in the state and said that the actions of the agency appear more like a newspaper stunt. He said that it appears that the agency is playing the role of a news channel.

He said that the sleuths of the ED are playing the role of a journalist rather than doing their original work. The Chief Minister said that the government was watching all the acts of the ED and is even what they are actually doing.

The Chief Minister asked the ED to tell what it has recovered so far. He said that to date not a press briefing has been done by the agency nor they have detailed their action. He said that action of the ED is only aimed at reducing the pace of development in Jharkhand but the government has not been disturbed.

The raids of ED have been on in the state since May 6 during which suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal and her CA were arrested by the ED for their involvement in Mnrega Scam. Further, it has also questioned the DMOs of many districts in connection with illegal mining while raids have been also conducted on many others but so far no official statement or press briefing has been done by the agency.
