Ranchi: Corona is now on the verge of being wiped out from Jharkhand as the virus which had created havoc with its outbreak in April is now dying in September.
According to the data released by the Health Department, for the first time during the second wave of corona, the number of active patients in the state has gone below 100. There are only 94 active patients left in the state (as per data released on Friday) Before Durga Puja, the pleasant information about the shrinking of Corona in the state is not just that.
Ranchi alone accounts for 63 percent of the total number of active patients in the state. There is not a single corona patient left in 10 districts. There are 12 districts where the number of patients is below 5. Only 7 active patients are left in Dhanbad and 63 active patients in Ranchi. Jharkhand has defeated Corona 3.42 lakh times since the first wave of Corona.
So far 1,42,23,772 people have been tested for corona in the state. In this 3,48,111 people have been found infected. Among the infected 3,42,884 people have defeated Corona and are leading a healthy life again. Whereas, so far 5,133 patients have died due to corona in the state.
Experts attribute the steady decline in the number of corona in the state to the strictness of the government and the vigilance of the health department. When educational institutions, religious places and markets started opening across the country from the first week of August, the Jharkhand government showed no haste. The markets did open, but many strict restrictions remained in force in these too. An attempt was made to stop the pace of corona by running a massive testing campaign in rural areas.
