Chatra: Police on Monday arrested TSPC Naxalites under Piparwar police station of Chatra district. Four Naxalite supporters have been arrested by the police.
Two American made pistols, two magazines, 100 rounds of 7.65 mm live bullets, two mobile phones of various companies used in demanding extortion and levy, Naxalite pamphlets and other items to spread terror in the area have been seized from the arrested Naxalites.
All the Naxalite supporters are residents of Tandwa and Piparwar police station areas. SP Vikas Pandey said, the special team of Piparwar police station in-charge Prashant Mishra formed under the leadership of Tandwa SDPO Prabhat Ranjan Barwar has taken this action on the basis of secret information.
He said that the Naxalites arrested in Koyalanchal and surrounding districts used to collect levy by threatening coal traders, contractors and people associated with development schemes. He said that even before this, these Naxalites were wanted by the police in many cases. Naxalite Masi Tigga, Viva Oraon, Vikas Oraon and Kiran Nagarwal have been arrested.
The SP said that an attempt was made to spread terror by the arrested Naxalites by setting fire to the vehicle of Jai Ambe Transport Company in Sengabilari village under Piparwar police station area and the vehicle of Shree Enterprises Company based in Jamdih. The SP said that the police campaign against Naxalites will continue.
