Ranchi: Due to the meaningful efforts of Chief Minister Hemant Soren the victims of human trafficking are being freed and rehabilitated in their homes. In this connection, three boys from the Ranchi district of the state and one girl from Gumla who were victims of human trafficking have been freed in Delhi.

Nodal Officer, Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Center, New Delhi Nachiketa said that all four children had come to Delhi at different times as victims of human trafficking. Delhi Police recovered three boys from the railway station and freed them and a girl from Gumla district was brought to Delhi by human trafficking. She was sold to do domestic work in a Kothi, where the girl child was made to work day and night was not even being given money. Ultimately being tired of physical torture the girl ran away from there.

During the escape, someone’s eyes fell on that girl and she was rescued. All the districts have been given strict instructions by the Director of the Women and Child Development Department Chhavi Ranjan, that whichever district the child is rescued in Delhi, the District Social Welfare Officer and Child Protection Officer of that district will bring them back to their district and will be rehabilitated.

In this series, the District Social Welfare Officer of Ranchi district Shweta Bharti formed a team under the leadership of the District Child Protection Officer and bring these children to Jharkhand and send them to rehabilitation.

Taking prompt action by District Child Protection Officer Ved Prakash Tiwari and Durga Shankar action is being taken to rehabilitate the children back to their home district in Jharkhand. Children rescued in Delhi are being brought to Ranchi by train from New Delhi.

These children will be linked to various schemes run by the Social Welfare Department so that they do not become victims of human trafficking again. Jharkhand Government and Women and Child Development Department are very sensitive on human trafficking and believe in quick action. This is the reason why the Integrated Rehabilitation Resource Center is being run in Delhi, whose nodal officer Nachiketa is working to free the victims of human trafficking from Jharkhand and rehabilitate them back to their district of Jharkhand.

As per the instructions of Local Commissioner Mastram Meena, the Integrated Rehabilitation-cum- Resource Center, New Delhi has been continuously visiting various children’s homes in Delhi, victims of human trafficking, misguided children and women who have fled unsafely by being misled by someone.
