Forest department raids illegal mica mine in Giridih

Giridih: The team of Gawan Forest Department of Giridih has launched a raid campaign against illegal mica mining.

Under this campaign, raids have been conducted in more than half a dozen mines in Dharve forest, in which huge quantities of gelatin, detonators, mica and many equipment used in mining have been seized.

This action has been taken on the instructions of Ranger Anil Kumar.

The action was taken on secret information, a case has been registered in the police station and forest office.

Forester Pawan Chaudhary said that secret information was received that illegal mica excavation was being done in Dharve forest.

On receiving the information, on the instructions of the ranger, a team was formed and a raid was conducted in Dharve forest.

In this raid, many mining equipment including 45 pieces of gelatin, 1 piece detonator, 3 pieces of hammer and crowbar have been seized.

Further action is being taken by registering an FIR against the mine operator in the matter.

In this case, an FIR is also being lodged against the mine operator in Gawan police station in relation to the seized gelatine and detonator.

Illegal mining will not be allowed under any circumstances.
