Ranchi: A FIR has been registered against Independent MLA from Jamshedpur East Saryu Rai at Doranda Police Station area of the state capital for violation of the official secret act.
The FIR has been registered against sections 409/379/411/120B and 420 of the IPC. Saryu Rai had accused Health Minister Banna Gupta of being involved in the Covid incentive scam. He had also written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren asking to take action against the minister.
After Saryu Rai made the disclosure Minister Banna Gupta had held a press conference claiming innocence in the matter. Later he also served a notice to the MLA through his lawyers asking Saryu Rai to seek an apology over the matter.
After Saryu Rai did not apologize and even did not respond to the notice Banna Gupta knocked on the doors of the court. Saryu Rai had accused the minister and 59 staff members attached to his ministerial cell of taking Covid incentive.
