FIH Women’s Hockey, Chile gets its first win, scores 6 goals against Czech Republic

Ranchi:  Chile registered its first win in the FIH Women’s Hockey Olympic Qualifier being played in Ranchi. Chile scored a flurry of goals in the first match played at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Morabadi on Sunday. Won 6-0 against Czech Republic.

Chile captain Manuela Uroz scored two brilliant field goals. After a 0-0 draw in the first quarter, Chile played an aggressive game from the second quarter and did not give the Czech Republic a chance to make a comeback.

The first goal of the match was scored by De Las Heras Conjulo in the 17th minute in the form of a field goal. The second goal was scored by captain Manuela in the 36th minute, breaking the Czech Republic’s defense and scoring a field goal. Camila Carrom converted the penalty into a goal in the 38th minute.

Antonia Morales converted the penalty into a goal in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute, captain Manuela scored another field goal and increased the lead to 5-0. Maria Maldonado scored the last goal in the 58th minute of the match and registered a big victory of 6-0. Chile’s captain was chosen player of the match.
