Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has congratulated and extended his best wishes to Kalyan Choubey for being elected as the President of the All India Football Federation. The Chief Minister said that Choubey’s experience in the field of sports would go a long way in strengthening football in the country.
Through a letter, the Chief Minister congratulated Team India for participating in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on this historic occasion. He expressed hope that the team will give its best.
The Chief Minister said that the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 is an international football tournament and hosting such a big championship for the first time since its inception is a reward for the efforts of AIFF and the growth of football. I am proud to lead a state which has produced some of the best footballers for the country and still does. I am very excited to see six players from Jharkhand representing India in the World Cup. I am happy that Astam Oraon from Gumla district of Jharkhand will lead Team India, he wrote.
The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is proud of giving training to Team India at a camp in Jamshedpur. The state government is committed to making Jharkhand a football nursery. The Chief Minister has invited the President of All India Football Federation to Jharkhand. He has expressed his willingness to partner to promote and develop women’s football in the state and the country.
