Environment fair will be held at Morhabadi Maidan from 22 February to 3 March says Saryu Rai

Ranchi: An environment fair is being organized from February 22 to March 3 at the Morhabadi grounds of the state capital. Organized by Yugantar Bharti and Nature Foundation, many renowned scientists, environmentalists, and legal experts will present their views and experiences in this fair.

Briefing the press at the venue MLA Saryu Rai said that the fair will be inaugurated on February 22 at 4 pm. Justice SN Pathak and Justice Ambujnath of Jharkhand High Court will be present as chief guests at the fair.

After the inauguration on Wednesday, the famous shehnai-playing duo Sanjeev Shankar and Ashwini Shankar (Banaras Gharana) will perform. He said that the fair will be open for the general public from 11 am to 8.30 pm. State Saryu Rai said that the fair has been organized to increase the interest of the common people towards the environment. 

Detailing further he said that on February 23, a state-level competition will be organized for selected students of all government and private schools, colleges, and universities of the state and the winning participants will be rewarded. On February 24,  environmental protection awards will be given to private and government industrial units doing better work in the field of environmental protection. On February 25, an eco-tourism photography competition will be organized and senior Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Upadhyay will deliver a lecture on environmental law.

On February 26, a workshop will be organized on the topic of Traditional Practices and Global Environmental Governance. On February 27, Padma Shri Dr SE Hasnain, who was scientific advisor to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will deliver a lecture on Eco Science. On March 1, there will be a workshop on the topic Rise of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the environment.

There will be a workshop on Recycling and Sustainability on 1st March and Efforts towards Clean Production on 2nd March. The fair will be concluded on March 3 with the program of famous Pandavani singer Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai. A total of 120 stalls are being set up at the fair.
