Ensure participation of LAMPX-PAX and SHGs in seed distribution: Agri Min Badal

Ranchi: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren the farmers of the state are being provided seeds, fertilizers on time and the responsibility of the implementation of the schemes is on the district officials which means that the success of the schemes depends on them. 

Agriculture Minister Badal said these things while addressing all the district agriculture officers and district cooperative officers during the online launch of the seed distribution program on the occasion of Seed Day. Badal said that participation of lampx pax, self-help groups should be ensured in seed distribution and work needs to be done to ensure that the benefits of the agriculture scheme reach the last farmer of the village. 

This year also the distribution of seeds will be done with full transparency through block chain technology and monitoring of seed distribution will be done on micro level he said. Through video conferencing, he instructed all the District Agriculture Officers that the program of seed distribution should be organized at the block level under the leadership of the people’s representative MP, MLA, Zilla Parishad President and other people’s representatives or their representatives and ensure that the farmers get the seeds on time. 

He said that the government is doing the work of making the farmers stand on their own feet at the village level and your dedication is very important in its successful implementation. Badal said that orders have been issued for supply of 16,100 quintals of seeds, which include 12,000 quintals of paddy seeds, 2800 quintals of maize, 300 quintals of Madua seeds and 1000 quintals of moong seeds so that the farmers get the seeds on time.

In West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Seraikela, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Sahibganj, early sowing of paddy is done in Rohini Nakshatra, for this order has been issued for the supply of 10,250 quintals of paddy seed on priority basis in these districts. Along with this, in the coming days also, in addition to various crops, about 50,000 quintals of seeds of various crops will be allotted for distribution to the districts.

The Agriculture Minister said that we have been able to benefit 12 lakh farmers under the Chief Minister’s Crop Relief Scheme of Rs 3500 per farmer and the government has waived the loans of five lakh farmers. During the program, through video conferencing, Uday Dangi of Kanha Chatti block of Chatra district, who was working as a migrant labourer in Gujarat for 25 years, came back to his village during the Corona period and started farming.
