Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Mann Ki Baat programme lauded the initiative of the Ranchi district administration taken for water conservation in the area.
The PM in his program said that the work done by the people of Arakarem village located some distance from Ranchi has set an example for everyone. He said that the villagers through their hard work gave proper direction to the water of the fall which has not only helped to prevent soil erosion and crop damage but were now also ensuing water in the farms and the labour of the people is now serving as the lifeline for the villagers.
DC Rai Mahimepet Rey has directed to conduct the water conservation programme in all the 305 panchayats of the 1b blocks of this district on a war footing under which everyday work for construction of recharge pit, trench cum bund is being done.
In the first phase, the district administration had given training to the villagers for this work and they were encouraged to do labour for water conservation which has resulted in a positive initiative from the villagers.
The DC himself on a daily basis is monitoring the progress being made under the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan and is also participating in labour with the villagers to encourage them further for this cause.
