Ranchi: The Election Commission has initiated a search for eight unrecognised political parties in Jharkhand that have been missing for a long time. These parties neither have a registered office nor have they submitted their annual reports to the commission. The commission has decided to take action against these parties.
The missing parties include Bharat Vikas Morcha, Bahujan Sadan Morcha, Bhartiya Jan Mukti Party, Jansadharan Party, Jharkhand Party Secular, Jharkhand Vikas Dal, Rashtriya Mazdoor Kisan Prajatantrik Party, and Rashtriya Sengal Party. Of these, five parties were registered in Ranchi, while one each was registered in Palamu, Giridih, and Deoghar.
Following the Election Commission’s investigation, there is a possibility that the recognition of 39 unrecognized political parties in Jharkhand could be canceled. The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand has sent a report to the Election Commission of India and recommended necessary action.
In addition, seven other unrecognized political parties have failed to submit their annual reports to the commission. The commission has sent letters for necessary action against these parties as well. It is noteworthy that three of the 39 unrecognized political parties in the state have already merged, and investigations into the remaining parties are ongoing.
