Mumbai- Actress Divyanka Tripathi and her husband Vivek Dahiya are celebrating Ganpati this year with an added sense of joy as they recently welcomed twin boys. The couple has kept the festivities at home simple and intimate, with a special blue-themed decor dedicated to their newborn sons.
Speaking to IANS during the Ganpati celebrations, Divyanka said the arrival of their babies inspired the couple to make this year’s festival more personal.
“Our two babies have just arrived. So, we thought that Lord Ganpati should come and see our babies here at home. We haven’t done much in terms of preparations. We have kept everything very small and very simple,” she said.
The actress revealed that they brought home a small Ganpati idol and chose blue as the primary colour for the decorations, traditionally associated with baby boys.
“We have brought baby Ganesha. We have kept a little blue theme because there are boys. There are also some pearls, rabbits and mushrooms. We have kept a little cute decor. It’s for our babies,” she added.
This year’s celebrations mark the couple’s first Ganpati festival after embracing parenthood. While the occasion has brought them happiness, Divyanka admitted that celebrating the festival while caring for two newborns has also made life considerably more demanding.
“It is hectic. We have to manage a lot. If the brain was running at 60, then it has to run at 160. The babies should also be very comfortable, and people are also coming. To manage everything properly, we have to go an extra mile,” she said.
Despite the added responsibilities, the couple has chosen to keep the celebrations centred around home and family. Divyanka said they prepared the festive meal themselves, including traditional modaks.
“We have made food at home. We have made modak, vegetables, roti and dal. Whatever we are going to eat at home, we have made everything at home,” she said.
The actress also spoke about how the arrival of the twins has changed the couple’s priorities. She said caring for newborns has made them far more conscious of their children’s comfort and wellbeing, even during everyday moments such as sleep.
“Even while sleeping, we are looking at the babies to see whether they are okay or not. We never thought so much about ourselves as we are thinking about these new individuals. Earlier, when we thought we should do something different or something good, now it seems that whatever we do, it should be good for the babies,” she said.
For Divyanka and Vivek, therefore, this year’s Ganpati celebrations are less about elaborate arrangements and more about welcoming Bappa into a home that has recently entered a new phase. The blue decorations, baby-themed elements and intimate festivities reflect the couple’s happiness as they experience their first festival together as parents.
