Development of Agriculture and prosperity of farmers is top priority for state government: Hemant

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that the development of Agriculture and the prosperity of the farmers are a top priority for his government. Chairing a review meeting of the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department he said that to strengthen the rural economy it is important that farmers and cattle rearers are made strong. He said that many schemes have been started for them and there was a need to properly execute them.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed to organise KCC Melas in all the blocks of the state in different phases so that more and more farmers can be included with it. Further, he said that a mechanism should be developed so that monitoring can be done on a daily basis regarding the KCCs being issued by the banks.

On this, he was informed that a target has been sent to link 29.38 lakh farmers with KCC during the year 2022-23 out of which 17.76 lakh farmers have been covered.

The Chief Minister said that Kisaan Pathshala is an ambitious scheme of the state government therefore it should be properly executed. He said that plans should be made so that the progressive farmers can be given the responsibility of running these schools and also suggested that the Pathshala seeds and other agricultural items should be provided to the farmers. At present 17 such Pathshalas are functional in the state and in this fiscal, a target has been set to have 50 such Kisaan Pathshalas.

While reviewing the progress in Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Yojana he said that for the prosperity of the farmers in the rural areas it is important that animal wealth is used in a proper manner and said that plans should be made so that the responsibility of animal husbandry in villages is given to Pashu Mitras and Chawahas who should be provided incentives and their work should be also regularly monitored.

He asked the officials to make sure that black marketing of fertilizers be stopped at any cost and said that due arrangement should be made so that farmers do not face any problems for fertilizers and if the needed new license should be issued so that farmers can easily get the fertilisers.
