Ranchi, Apr 14: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Friday said that black
money had damaged the economy over the last 70 years however the flow
of the black money was put to on hold by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
who announced the demonetization on November 8 last year. .
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the digidhan mela at the project
building here he said that Jharkhand has also participated whole
heartedly to promote digital transactions in the country. He said that
on the occasion of the 126th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao
Ambedkar the Prime Minister launched the ‘Bhim Aadhar’ which play a
great role to push the digital movement in the country.
The Chief Minister said that his government established coordination
with the banks to promote digital transactions in the state and the
officials of the IT department also worked to train the people of the
rural area.
He expressed his happiness that in Jharkhand Sahibganj has
become the first digital district as 12.5 lakh people were making
digtal transactions and it also included 44,000 traders. He said that
Prime Minister has felicitated the DCs of Bokaro and Palamu for their
work in the area of creating awareness regarding digital usage and said
that further strength was added to the digital movement in the state
after the Prime Minister launched the scheme to distribute smart
phones among the members of women sakhi mandals.
The Chief Minister directed the officials that they should act as a
team to create awareness regarding digital transactions. He said that
cashless helped to check 30 pc tax evasion and the money generated
which is being used in the welfare schemes for the poor. He urged the
women who had gathered from different areas of the state to use
cashless transactions.
