Ranchi: The state on Tuesday registered its highest-ever spike as a total of 374 cases of Covid-19 were detected across Jharkhand following which the overall tally of Coronavirus patients has crossed the 6,000 mark and stands at 6,195.
It is the third occasion in this month that more than 300 cases have been detected in a single day across Jharkhand During the day 6 deaths were also reported in the state with 2 each coming from East Singhbhum and Saraikela districts and 1 each from Dhanbad and Ranchi districts after which the overall death count has gone up to 61 in the state.
As per the data provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 3,192 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 2,942. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 61.
During the day a maximum number of 106 cases were reported in Ranchi district followed by 65 in Pakur district while 35 cases each were also found in Garhwa and Godda districts. 19 cases were detected in Latehar, 17 cases were found in Sahebganj, 16 in Dhanbad, 12 in Saraikela and 11 in West Singhbhum districts. 10 cases each were found in East Singhbhum, Giridih, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts during the day. 8 cases in Lohardaga, 7 each in Deoghar and Palamu districts, 5 each in Gumla and Koderma, 4 in Garhwa, 2 each in Bokaro and Khunti and 1 in Dumka district were also found on Tuesday. Jamtara turned out to be the only district where no case was found on Tuesday.
On Tuesday a total of 107 people were cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities in the state including 21 from Hazaribagh followed by 20 from Giridih. 12 patients from East Singhbhum, 11 from West Singhbhum, 10 each from Ramgarh and Koderma, 8 from Deoghar, 7 from Dumka, 3 from Bokaro, 2 from Godda and 1 from Palamu districts also defeated Coronavirus and returned back to their homes.
The samples are being currently tested in the state at government facilities including MGM Jamshedpur, RIMS Ranchi, PMCH Dhanbad and Itki Arogyashala Ranchi while samples are also being tested in different private labs in the state.
Jharkhand had reported its first Coronavirus case on March 31 as a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Covid-19. Due to the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has plummeted further to 47.48 percent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 2,40,632 samples have been collected out of which 2,30,535 have been tested and 2,24,340 have turned out to be negative.
The data further pointed out that the number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic was at 5,596 while people who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,333. The number of people in facility quarantine was at 6,937 while those in home quarantine were 2,54,621.
