Congress party has always worked in the interest of tribals: Rameshwar Oraon

Ranchi: JPCC Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the Congress party has always worked for the betterment of the tribal community.

Speaking to the press after chairing a meeting over preparations in wake of celebrating the World Tribal Day on August 9 he said that in the constitution provisions related to the safeguarding the tribals was included while schools for the children hailing from the community were also opened and most importantly reservation was provided to them in jobs and educational institutions.

He said that no one can deny the works which have been done by the various Congress governments for the betterment of the tribals as it was his party which framed rules to protect the land forest and waters of the community. He said that since 2018 the party has been celebrating the World Tribal Day in a big way and this time also the tradition would continue.

To a query he said that when lockdown was first imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi than at that time the number of patients was 500 which has now increased to 20 lakh therefore BJP leaders should seek answers from him as to why effective steps were not taken. He said that by organising events like Namaste Trump Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi were plunged into Coronavirus crisis and from these three states the infection spread to other states.

Over BJP delegation meeting Governor Draupadi Murmu for the want of Leader of Opposition chair for Babulal Marandi he said that BJP should wait as Speaker was going through all the legal aspects and there was no plan creating unnecessary pressure over the matter.
