Ranchi: A Satyagraha march was taken out in all the assembly constituencies of Jharkhand in protest against the politicization of the army and the long queues of the unemployed youth. State Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said that the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress is also vocally opposing the unjust Agneepath scheme brought by the Narendra Modi government at the Center regarding recruitment in the army.
As part of the agitation, the Satyagraha march of Ranchi Vidhan Sabha was taken out from Congress Bhawan where hundreds of Congress leaders and workers marched raising slogans demanding the cancellation of the Agneepath scheme and accusing the center of playing with the future of youth and politicizing the army.
The march later turned into a meeting after going near the Ranchi Collectorate. Addressing the meeting State Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that the way the Central Government is dealing with the future of the youth of the country is condemnable.
He said that the government is making new changes every day regarding this scheme which will ultimately impact the capability of the armed forces. He said that this scheme will be disastrous for the military power of the youth. He exhorted the youth to open their eyes and identify the fake desh bhakts.
Thakur urged the youth to fight with perseverance and calmness. He said that the youth should also remember that they do not have to stop. He said it is their duty to protect the democracy of the country and Congress will always remain committed to fulfilling this duty
