Ranchi: Ranchi Metropolitan Congress Committee on Tuesday began its “Vote Chore–Gaddi Chhod” signature campaign in six of the twenty blocks under its jurisdiction.
The launch took place in the presence of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee officials, including state in-charge Raju, state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, former president Rajesh Thakur, working president and ex-minister Bandhu Tirkey, former Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu, and Kanke MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha. The event was chaired by metropolitan vice-president Prince Batt under the guidance of Dr. Kumar Raja.
Several senior leaders and office-bearers were present, including state secretary Shahbaz Ahmed, metropolitan vice-presidents Jaw Chakravarti and Sharik Ahmed, block presidents Vikki Karmali, Mohammad Tauheed, Ibrar Khan, Kumar Kaushal Gandhi, and Ankit Singh, along with ward presidents and other party functionaries. During the event, the state in-charge and president reviewed organisational updates and set deadlines to complete pending work. All block and panchayat leaders were tasked with carrying forward the signature campaign, while all front-line organisations were instructed to participate actively.
Emphasising the need to protect democracy, Jharkhand in-charge Raju said, “As our leader Rahul Gandhi has revealed vote theft with evidence, it is now necessary to spread these facts among the people to safeguard democracy.” State president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh accused the central BJP government of attempting to undermine democracy and alleged that the Election Commission had become a puppet, allowing unethical practices and vote manipulation. Working president Bandhu Tirkey urged Congress workers to take responsibility for exposing vote theft and raising awareness among citizens.
