Ranchi: A grand Ram Temple, modelled after the one in Ayodhya, will be constructed in the historical Tapovan Temple area of Ranchi. On April 14, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the temple’s construction. The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including former Union Minister and Congress leader Subodhkant Sahay. During the ceremony, the Tapovan Temple premises were flooded with a large crowd of devotees.
CM Hemant Soren shared a post on his X handle, writing, “Today, I participated in the historic Shree Ram Janaki Tapovan Temple’s groundbreaking ceremony in Ranchi. On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all.”
The construction of the temple will use around 50,000 cubic feet of stone, which will add to its grandeur. Notably, the white marble used in the temple’s construction is sourced from Rajasthan’s famous Makrana, the same marble used in the Taj Mahal.
The temple will blend traditional Nagar-style architecture with modern techniques, making it not only a centre of religious faith but also a major tourist attraction for Ranchi in the future.
