Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Police Department and other related departments including Women, Child Development and Social Security regarding the prevention of human trafficking in the Ministry of Jharkhand. In the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officials that human trafficking is becoming a serious problem in the state, to stop it, all concerned departments, NGOs and social organizations need to establish better coordination and prepare an effective action plan.
The Chief Minister said that many criminal elements are involved in this organized crime in activities like human trafficking, along with catching such elements, effective steps should be taken to make the general public also alert and cautious in this direction. Soren directed the officials to build a combined building in all the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand where ST/SC Police Station, Anti Human Trafficking Police Station, Cyber Police Station and Mahila Police Station can function 24×7.
The concerned department should prepare the DPR of the combined building and ensure that further action is taken. Chief Minister directed the officers of the Police Department to continuously review the old and pending cases related to anti-human trafficking and execute those cases. Monitor the conviction of cases.
He asked the officials to take strict legal action against the people involved in human trafficking. It should be ensured that action is taken against syndicates or agencies involved in human trafficking. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure strict and effective action against the brokers who push children into child labour.
The Chief Minister said that data and police verification of workers who go to other states for domestic work should be ensured so that they can be protected from physical, financial and mental exploitation. All the help desks and call centers created related to anti-human trafficking should be fully activated and those centers should be reviewed continuously. Make arrangements so that the data of workers can be registered in the common service centers established at Panchayat levels.
Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren asked the officials to make a better action plan for the benefit of the migrant workers or laborers of the state who migrate to other states for employment. Create a mechanism in which those workers get incentives from the state government and all their data can remain safe with the state government.
Chief Minister said that the information system related to human trafficking should be strengthened in all the panchayats and remote rural areas of the state. In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren reviewed the schemes run for prevention and rehabilitation related to women trafficking under Jharkhand Mahila Vikas Samiti under the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department.
In the meeting, the work progress of other schemes including Integrated Rehabilitationcum- Resource Centre, One Stop Center Scheme, Women Helpline Scheme, Swadhar Grih Scheme/ Ujjwala Scheme (Shakti Sadan) was reviewed and many important guidelines were also given to the officials.
