CM directs officials to ensure every year meeting of SEGC is held

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday directed the officials to make sure that every year meeting of State Employment Guarantee Council (SEGC) is held.

Chairing the meeting of SEGC at the project building here he said that there is a need to bring a change in the working style for better execution of Mnrega in the state. He said that under Mnrega many ambitious schemes are being run for employment generation and therefore there was a need to make an assessment as to what changes these schemes are bringing in the lives of the beneficiaries. He said that regular review of all the schemes should be held and they should be realised hundred percent on the ground so that it can bring changes in the life of the people for whom the schemes have been started. The Chief Minister said that the schemes should be result oriented.

He said that it is a Priority for the state government that income of the people should increase and pointed that his government was working to bring positive changes in the lives of all the communities and especially among the poor workers and the farmers the Chief Minister said that it was important work of ‘Medhbandi’ is done at the fields on a mission mode as under the present water resources was very important and Medhbandi at farms will help for water storage.

The Chief Minister directed officials to open micro nurseries at the village level which will be helpful for the people who are directly involved in agriculture. He said that such farmers who grow vegetables and fruits throughout the year they would be able to get the benefits of these rural nurseries. He directed to improve the compost management system in the rural areas.

He instructed the officials to develop a single Window system for the successful implementation of schemes under Mnrega which will help save the time of the beneficiaries and would also create more employment opportunities. He said that all the departments should work in coordination among themselves and come out with a single window system for the beneficiaries.

During the meeting Mnrega commissioner Sidharth Tripathi share a detailed presentation over the progress of schemes important decisions and achievements along with that he also apprised regarding the work plan for the year 2021-22.

Those present in the meeting included Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam, Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Development Commissioner K K Khandelwal, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments.
