CM celebrates Sohrai festival at his maternal grandmother’s home in Chandil, says let the closed envelope remain closed

Saraikela: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached his maternal grandmother in Dhatkidih under Chandil block of Saraikela-Kharswan district on Thursday to celebrate the Sohrai festival. At around 01: 43 in the afternoon Hemant Soren arrived by helicopter with his father Guruji Shibu Soren.

After landing from the helicopter he was given a guard of honour. After that, the feet of the Chief Minister and Guruji were washed by tribal customs. Then on reaching the village from the helipad site, the women of Nanihal welcomed them with traditional customs and made them enter the house.

Hemant Soren, who reached his maternal grandmother in Chandil said on the politics of the state regarding the closed envelope, he said that the envelope should remain closed. He said that will see when it is opened, by the way, JMM is ready for every struggle. He said that when the people of the state are with him then there is no need to worry about any envelope. During this, he appealed to the people to celebrate Sohrai and Mahaparv Chhath with pomp. 

The Chief Minister who reached his maternal grandmother on the Sohrai festival was seen playing the drum himself. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that they have reached his maternal uncle’s house to celebrate the Sohrai festival with the family and his Nanihal is a big gift for me. He said that he had come here and try to refresh his childhood memories. He said that Sohrai is a traditional festival in which people reach their respective villages.

After Covid-19 he got a chance to come to the home for the festival which felt good and even the small children of his maternal uncle’s house have grown up. In Dhatkidih, the villagers gave a grand welcome to the Chief Minister on the beat of the drum and temple with tribal customs.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren stayed in his maternal grandmother’s house for about two hours. There is a custom of eating jaggery pitha and peeled pitha, especially in the Sohrai festival. Hemant Soren refreshed the memory of the Sohrai festival by eating jaggery pitha and peeled pitha in his maternal grandmother.

During this, on the Sohrai festival, his feet were washed on behalf of the relatives from the side of his maternal grandmother of and the tribal dress was presented in the form of new clothes. After this, he and Guruji Shibu Soren left for Ranchi by helicopter. On this occasion Kolhan DIG, Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal, SP Anand Prakash, MLA Savita Mahto, Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi and others were present.
