Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the Jharkhand Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme (JKRMY) at the project building here.
During the review, the Chief Minister was apprised by the officers that under JKRMY the loan waiver of 9 lakh 7 thousand 753 eligible farmers was to be done in the state but against 9 lakh 7 thousand 753 eligible farmers, only 6 lakh 6 thousand farmers were provided the benefits of the loan wavier scheme by the various banks.
Expressing concern over this, the Chief Minister directed that a meeting with the banks under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary should be organized soon to speed up the loan waiver work of the deprived eligible farmers under the Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme.
He asked to resolve the problems related to loan waiver of farmers at the earliest. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that officers should prepare a panchayat-wise database of eligible farmers by running a campaign so that the benefit of loan waiver can be made available to them under the Jharkhand Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to make the data of eligible farmers whose loan waiver has been done public on the public platform as well. Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary Finance Department Ajay Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique and other officials were present in the meeting.
