CIL sponsors Jharkhand athlete Asha Kiran Barla for three years

Ranchi: Jharkhand’s Golden Girl athlete Asha Kiran Barla has been sponsored by Coal India Limited for 3 years. Coal India will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh every year. In this, dress and kit related to the branding of Coal India will be provided by the management. Asha will now wear Coal India branded kits during practice and competitions (where there is no objection).

A few days ago, CCL had sent the proposal to cooperate with Asha Kiran Barla to Coal India Headquarters. Coal India Chairman PM Prasad approved it before Diwali. On Monday, Asha Kiran Barla along with her coach Ashu Bhatia met CCL Director Personnel HN Mishra. During this, he was given information regarding the sponsorship received from Coal India. During this time, many officers including sports manager Adil Hussain were present there. 

Asha Kiran Barla is a trainee of Bhatia Athletics Academy located at Bokaro Thermal and her elder sister Florence Barla is also an international athlete. Asha, a resident of Nawadih village under Kandara block of Gumla district, has created a new national record in the 800 meter race under 20 last month. Currently she is busy preparing for the Paris Olympics.
