CID arrested two cyber criminals who cheated Rs 1 crore

Ranchi: CID has arrested two cyber criminals who cheated more than one crore. The arrested cyber criminals are Jitendra Kumar, a resident of Araria, Bihar and Harshvardhan Choubey, a resident of Bhagalpur. The CID has recovered two mobiles, three SIM cards, four Aadhaar cards and 11 ATM cards from the criminals. Vinay Mishra and Shilpi Singh, residents of Ranchi, had got the case done in the cyber cell police station. In the complaint lodged, it was said that his telegram was contacted through an international virtual number.

In which he was given the task of doing a part-time job by liking videos on YouTube. After this, he was given the task of contacting another Telegram profile and registering on the URL to like the video. To do the task given through this URL, they were asked to put money in different bank accounts.

In the beginning, some money was added to their account to deceive them. But later the money transfer was stopped and in this way a cyber fraud of Rs 84.32 lakh was done with them.

Similarly, in another case, cyber criminals cheated a total of 20.40 lakhs in the name of getting KYC updated by posing as CBI’s customer care provider
