Christians and BJP trade charges on each other

Ranchi  July15 :  The ruling BJP and Christian community have levelled charges against each other on various issues including selling of newborn from Missionaries of Charity.

 

Ishai Mahadsangh on Sunday handed over a memorandum to Governor Drupdi Mumru and demanded operation launched against Christian Missionaries should be stopped.

 

“ There is a conspiracy against Dharam Gurus of Christian missionaries. The Dharam Gurus are sent to jail by levelling wrong allegations” said Prabhakar Tirkey, president of Ishai Mahasangh.

 

It has demanded from Governor that the land amendment act should be withdrawn, ensure constitutional rights to tribals , implement Sarna code to Tribals and adopt human approach in case of Missionaries of Charity issue instead of law.

 

BJP Schedule Tribe (ST) Morcha has heavily came down on the role of Churches.

 

“ Christian Missionaries are responsible for exploitation of tribal. Missionaries have been given land for social work and land have been used for opening Churches in the state. The Christian leader Prabhakar Tirkey setting up plant in Godda district and at the same time opposing the amendment in land act” said Ashok Badaik, vice president of BJP ST Morcha.

 

 The BJP govt in Jharkhand and Christian missionaries are on loggerheads after selling of six babies from Missionaries of Charity surfaced early this month. Four of the six babies allegedly sold by Missionaries of Charity have been recovered by the police from different parts of the state. One sister and one staff of Missionaries  of Charity have been arrested and sent to police remand. Both arrested sister and staffs have admitted their crimes before police.
