Charge sheet filed in Army land scam case against 10 people including former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan

Ranchi: In a case of selling the army land by manipulation of documents, the Enforcement Directorate filed charge sheet against ten people including former Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chavvi Ranjana.

ED had raided 22 locations of 18 people including former DC Chhavi Ranjan of Ranchi in April this year. This raid was done on 13 April.

The charge sheet has been filed by the ED in this matter. In this charge sheet filed in the special court, the names of 10 other people including IAS Chhavi Ranjan are included.

The ED has filed a charge sheet in the special court against whom Chhavi Ranjan, Kolkata-based businessmen Amit Agarwal, Dilip Ghosh, Badgai CI Bhanu Pratap Prasad, land broker Pradeep Bagchi, Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Fayaz Khan, Talha Khan and Mohd. Saddam’s name is included.

Ranchi’s former DC Chhavi Ranjan, accused in the Army land scam case, is accused of getting the land transferred on the basis of fake documents. IAS Chhavi Ranjan was arrested on May 4 in the Army land scam case.

On April 13, the ED raided 22 locations of 18 people, including Chhavi Ranjan. After this, on April 14, seven accused including fake raiyat Pradeep Bagchi, revenue sub-inspector of Badagain circle Bhanu Pratap Prasad
were arrested.

Kolkata-based businessman Amit Agarwal and Jagatbandhu Tea Estate owner Dilip Ghosh, two more accused in the case, were arrested late on June 7. They have been sent to Hotwar Jail today after completion of ED remand period.

The forgery in the purchase and sale of 4.55 acres of land occupied by the army was first revealed in the commissioner’s inquiry report.

It was revealed in the report that a person named Pradeep Bagchi had sold the said land to Dilip Kumar Ghosh, director of Jagat Bandhu Tea Estate Pvt Ltd, posing as a fake tenant.

The two different papers related to the holding the number that Pradeep Bagchi had attached in the registry for the purchase and sale of land were found to be fake during the investigation.
