Centre of Excellence will provide all modern facilities for quality education to children: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday said that the government schools will now get a new identity in the state and they will emerge as best centers where students will be provided quality education and their personalities will be also developed.

Reviewing the construction of the model school Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo High School Jaggannathpur Dhurwa he said that apart from strengthening the basic infrastructure all modern academic facilities will be present in these schools as part of which they are being developed as centre of excellence by the state government.

He said that the centre of excellence will not be mere schools as here foundation will be laid for a better future for the children and with this very thought, the government has decided to develop many schools as centres of excellence for which overall 450 schools have been selected out of which 80 are being developed in the first phase.

The Chief Minister said that in these centres all modern facilities, expert teachers, laboratories, libraries and computer labs will be present. He collected necessary information from School Education Secretary Rajesh Sharma regarding the school construction and also gave necessary instructions.

He categorically directed to make sure that no compromise is made on construction quality and warned that strict action will be taken over complaints of the use of low-grade material. During the review he directed to make arrangements for a multi-purpose hall where activities of children can be systematically run, corridor should be present to connect the old and new building, proper arrangements for water harvesting, construction of boundary wall should be ensured, proper arrangements for indoor and outdoor games, planting of trees around the boundary wall.

Those present also included Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh and Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey.
