Caste census should be the basis of reservation: Sudesh

Jamshedpur: AJSU Union President and former Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Kumar Mahto has said that politicians have to rise above their narrow mindset and provide reservations as per the population and it should also be ensured that the basis of share is decided from the caste census itself.

Reservation is not just a question of economics but it is a question of representation and participation he said while addressing a party event here. He said that social justice can be achieved only through caste census. He said that only an educated organized and aware society can get rights and justice. Therefore to get an education, respect and to take their rights people will have to
move forward with these three challenges.

Sudesh Mahto further said that democracy is strengthened by public interest whereas democratic values are violated by individual interest therefore such a situation people have to come out of the demanding situation and become commanding for which political mobilization is the only option. He the way to justice emerges only through social change but social change is not possible without political consciousness.

Asking the people to find a solution by taking lessons from history he said that the responsibility of instilling courage in the downtrodden families is on all of the people as they have to unite and fight the decisive battle for social justice.
