Cancellation of inauguration of Deoghar AIIMS OPD is planned conspiracy: JMM

Ranchi: The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Friday said that cancellation of inauguration of OPD services at Deoghar AIIMS at the very last moment is a planned conspiracy.

Addressing a press conference here party spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that Godda MP Nishikant Dubey wanted to physically present in the event due to which the event has been cancelled.

He said that in the year 2013 itself during UPA 2 AIIMS was approved for being setting in Santhal Pargana region of the state and its construction work started in 2016 and now it is ready.

He said that since there was no regular Director at Deoghar AIIMS therefore the executive director met the Chief Minister and sought his permission for the inauguration of the OPD, MBBS Second Batch and Ashray Griha after which the Chief Minister had directed to go ahead with the plan.

Bhattacharya claimed that in wake of Coronavirus the state government has already banned any type of inauguration function and in such a scenario Secretary of the Chief Minister on June 18 wrote a letter to Secretary to the Union Health Ministry stating that the programme can be held on June 26 on which the Union Ministry gave consent on June 22.

He further said that as per the plan the programme was to held virtually in which Chief Minister was to be present from Ranchi, Union Health Minister was to be present from New Delhi and local MP and MLA of the area were to be present virtually.

Unfortunately, he said suddenly on Thursday evening a letter came from the Union Health Ministry claiming that the event had been cancelled. He said that the letter was sent by the economic adviser and not the Director.
