Dumka: BJP national Vice-President president and Koderma MP Annapurna Devi on Thursday claimed that the bypolls for Bermo and Dumka seats would be a turning point for the state.
Addressing a press conference here he said that people of Dumka will teach a lesson to those who won from here and later left the constituency. He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren had disrespected the people of Dumka and people have made up their mind to take revenge of this disrespect.
Annapurna said that in nine months of rule of Hemant Soren incidents of rape, theft, dacoity and maoists related violence has increased as the state government has paid no attention to improve the law and order situation .
She said that women had become unsafe under the present regime and pointed to the recent cases of crime against women in Giridih and East Singhbhum district. She also condemned the way in which the local police had tried to do an eyewash over the rape and murder of minor tribal girl in Sahebganj district.
She said that such has become the situation of the state that even the Governor and the High Court are stepping up over the crime against women and daughters. Annapurna Devi also raised the issue of poor conditions of roads in the area. She said that in name of providing unemployment allowance to youth, loan wavier for farmers and providing Rs lakh under PMAY the Mahagathbandhan came into power but till date not a single step has been taken to fulfill those promises.
