Businessman Vishnu Aggarwal on remand for five days

Ranchi:  Businessman Vishnu Agarwal has been sent on remand for five days.

Vishnu Aggarwal was arrested late night on Monday after interrogation by the ED in the land scam case.

There was a hearing on the remand of Vishnu Aggarwal in which ED got five days remand.

On Wednesday, the ED’s counsel urged the court to allow Vishnu Aggarwal to be interrogated by taking him on remand for 7 days.

ED’s demand for remand was opposed by Vishnu Agarwal’s advocate, but Special Public Prosecutor Ramit Satender, appearing for ED, told the court that Vishnu Agarwal is also among the people who have benefited the most from the land scam.

The ED’s counsel told that many big names can come to the fore after questioning them in remand.

After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court granted ED remand to Vishnu Aggarwal for 5 days.

This is the third arrest by the ED in connection with the sale and purchase of one acre land on Cheshire Home Road.

The ED has also arrested the then DC of Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan.

A hearing was held in the special ED court on Monday on the bail of jailed accused Afsar Ali in the case of forgery in the purchase and sale of some other land in Ranchi, including the land occupied by the army.

The court has reserved the verdict.

The matter related to the land came to light when the ED arrested Ranchi’s officer Ali.

Earlier, on November 4, 2022, the ED raided several locations of Vishnu Agarwal in the land scam. Later three summons were sent to Vishnu Aggarwal for questioning.

His name came up in the purchase of land on the Cheshire Home Road, as well as in a number of land matters.

In the investigation, ED found that Prem Prakash’s role in this land deal also came to the fore.

At the same time, in the purchase of 9.30 acres of Khas Mahal land in Pugadu, the matter of forgery also came to the fore.

Businessman Vishnu Agarwal is originally from Purulia.

Have been living in Ranchi for many years.

The famous Nucleus Mall of Ranchi’s Circular Road belongs to him.

Phase II of Nucleus Mall is in Chandni Chowk, Kanke Road.

He is also the owner of land worth more than Rs 500 crore in Ranchi.

It is said that Vishnu Aggarwal has good relations with many ministers and MLAs.

Many IAS-IPS officers are also in contact with Vishnu Agarwal.
