Budget Session: Speaker asks MLAs to raise such issues related to people for which monetary allocation can be made

Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto on Friday asked the MLAs to raise issues which are related to people for which there is a need to make financial allocation.

Addressing the house on the inaugural day of the budget session of Jharkhand Assembly he said that during the previous budget session Coronavirus pandemic had struck and lockdown was implemented due to which the house was disrupted mid-way and even when the lockdown was lifted only as per need the house could be functional due to which the MLAs could get necessary opportunities to raise the issues related to the people.

However he said that during the ongoing session apart from the second supplementary budget for 2020-21 the state government will table the annual budget of the state. He said that during the budget session over the demand of grants the MLAs will have an opportunity to review the schemes of the state government by bringing cut motions.

Moreover the Speaker said that during thanks giving motion over the speech of the Governor the legislators will get to participate in fruitful discussions. He said that while discussions on budget proposals, demands of grants and cut motion the constructive suggestions which come inside the house can be included in next budget or the different supplementary budgets.

The Speaker also welcomed Hafizul Hasan who took oath as the new member of the state cabinet on February 5.
