Ranchi: An uproar was witnessed inside the Jharkhand assembly over the issue of illegal mining in the state during the ongoing budget session due to which the house was adjourned for nearly 50 minutes in the morning session.
During the question hour BJP’s Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan raised the issue of illegal mining in the House. He said thousands of cases related to illegal stone mining and illegal transportation have been reported across the state in three years.
Moreover, the use of illegal explosives has also come to light in these illegal minning activities and claimed that there has been a mining scam of more than 20 thousand crore rupees in the state and demanded for an NIA probe over how illegal explosives reached inside the state which was used in these minning activities.
Replying over the matter Minister Badal Patralekh said that Hemant Soren’s government has earned more revenue in mining than compared to the previous Raghubar Das’s government of Jharkhand. He said that revenue of Rs 15,784 crore was received in the Raghuvar government in three years whereas in our government, revenue of Rs 30,949 crore was received in three years.
As far as the illegal use of explosives is concerned, it is the responsibility of the Government of India. On this issue, BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi said that many mountains have disappeared in Sahibganj and Palamu. The matter is of illegal mining. He demanded the speaker to form a committee of the assembly to investigate the matter.
