Ranchi, May 3: The BJP clarified its stand over the by-polls on the two seats of the Jharkhand Assembly as part of which the party would be fielding its candidate in Gomia while as per earlier announced decision it would support the AJSU party in Silli.
State BJP president Laxman Giluwa said that a decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the core committee and the state level election committee. He said that the party would follow the coalition Dharma in Silli. He said that in 2014 assembly polls also BJP had left the Silli seat for the AJSU party and had fielded its candidate in Gomia therefore it would follow the same this time around. Mr Giluwa said that being the national party BJP was doing its bit for the coalition dharma and now it was the turn of the AJSU to play its role.
He said that after consulting the party workers four names are doing the rounds for contesting the by-polls from Gomia that being of Chatru Ram Mahto, Gunanad Mahto, Laxman Nayak and Devnarayan Prajapati. He said that party also discussed upon the name of former MLA Madhav Lal Singh as a candidate for the polls.
Meanwhile which is the junior ally of the NDA in the state had went ahead and declared candidates for both the seats. While party supremo Sudesh Mahto would again contest from Silli while from Gomia former JPSC officer Lambodar Mahto would be contesting on AJSU symbol. Both the candidates would be filing their nominations on May 7.
