Ranchi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again put a bet on Gangotri Kujur by fielding her as a candidate for the Mandar assembly bye-election.
Jharkhand BJP’s state vice-president Gangotri Kujur Mander had been an MLA earlier in the year 2014 as well. She then went to the assembly after defeating Bandhu Tirkey. Gangotri Kujur has been an information commissioner along with being a former MLA. She said that the safety and empowerment of women would be her priority and she will try to live up to the expectations of the party.
She said that after working for a long time she believed that he would get the ticket. Gangotri Kujur has thanked all the BJP leaders for making her party candidate in the bye-election. She enumerated her priority on winning the election and said that apart from public interest, the safety and empowerment of women would be her priority.
A few days earlier there was a meeting of the election committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state unit in this, many names including that of Gangotri Kujur were recommended. The Central Election Committee of the BJP has approved the name of Gangotri Kujur.
By the way, many people were trying hard to become a candidate in the Mander assembly elections. In this apart from Gangotri Kujur, the names of Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra and Arun Oraon were going around. However, the party once again expressed confidence in Gangotri Kujur and gave her the ticket
