New Delhi: Bharat Tex 2026 has emerged as a major catalyst for India’s textile sector, attracting investment commitments worth nearly ₹14,300 crore and generating business enquiries valued at around $2.8 billion, further strengthening the country’s position as a leading global textile manufacturing and sourcing destination.
Organised across more than 16 lakh square feet, the mega event featured 1,647 exhibitors and welcomed close to 95,000 business visitors, including over 20,000 repeat attendees. It also hosted 11,315 buyers, of whom 6,090 were international, along with 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries.
The first three days of the exhibition witnessed strong business activity, with over 28,500 business-to-business (B2B) meetings, more than 100 business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-government (G2G) interactions, and several high-level investment discussions.
Investment momentum remained strong as more than 30 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event. Andhra Pradesh led the list with proposed investments of ₹4,100 crore, followed by Karnataka with ₹2,821 crore, Bihar with ₹1,476 crore and Maharashtra with ₹1,095 crore. Textile recycling firm RE&UP also announced plans to invest ₹4,800 crore in India.
Several states, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, showcased their textile ecosystems through dedicated pavilions, highlighting their manufacturing strengths and investment potential.
The event also witnessed robust international participation. Ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal attended the exhibition, while business delegations from over 30 countries—including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Australia and the UAE—explored trade and investment opportunities. Representatives from the European Union were also present.
One of the major outcomes of Bharat Tex 2026 was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris, aimed at enhancing India-European Union collaboration in textile sourcing, sustainable manufacturing, design and market access.
Innovation remained a key focus, with the Sanrachna Hackathon providing a platform for students and innovators to present cutting-edge solutions in technical textiles, including protective apparel, advanced healthcare products and climate-resilient materials.
The exhibition also highlighted inclusive growth by facilitating special exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts, enabling them to interact directly with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts and explore new business opportunities in domestic and global markets.
