Basant to file nominations on Monday, Jaimangal on October 14

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha nominee from Dumka seat Basant Soren on Monday will file his nominations during which elder brother and Chief Minister Hemant Soren would also be present.

In the assembly elections of 2019, Hemant Soren had won from Dumka and Barhet seats but later he resigned from Dumka due to which the seat fell vacant.

Basant Soren who is also the central president of Jharkhand Yuva Morcha had fought the Rajya Sabha elections also but could not win.

On the other hand, Congress nominee from Bermo seat Jaimangal Singh who is the elder son of senior Congress leader late Rajendra Singh would file his nominations on October 14. The Bermo seat had fallen vacant due to the demise of his father.

JPCC spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that during the filing of nominations many senior leaders of the party, MLAs and cabinet ministers of the state government would be present.

The voting on both seats would be held on November 3 while counting of votes would be held on November 10.
